Good News for All My Fans!

Recently, there has been quite a few offers that have been pouring in over here.. ones that made me squeak in excitement and hopefully make you do so too!

The first offer came by way of a producer I know who was bragging about my vocal abilities to some friends of his. Who are these friends you ask? None other than the band, Betrayed with A Kiss.. a band that got signed by Sony Records this year and recently scored a contract with Pandora. They were so impressed that they want me to send them a demo asap! :)

The second offer came through the inbox of my Facebook page. A hip-hop artist by the name of Juan Da God was looking at my videos, liked my voice and wants me to collaborate on his next album. Naturally curious, I looked him up. He's on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, CD Baby, and Soundcloud. Been in bunch of magazine articles and featured on MTV!

The next offer came from a family friend who wants to send my demo to another hip-hop artist based out of Cincinnati. They've been friends forever, and this artist will straight up listen if he sends him stuff like that. That artist is Santino Corleone, and he had an even bigger presence than the previous guy!

Then came another offer the next day from someone at work. He knows this guy named Larry Sparks through his parents who's been friends with the guy for forever. In case you didn't know, Larry is a bluegrass player and has been in the industry for more than 60 years. He started playing with the Stanley brothers when he was 16! He's also one of Alison Kraus's idols. My work friend said that if Larry wasn't touring in the fall, he's gonna invite him to my performance at the town's fall festival so he can be impressed and help me out! :)

Then, yesterday at band practice, one of my childhood friends came by to audition for a guitarist position and brought a friend with him. This friend was listening to me sing and texted that I had a serious set of pipes. Later she was telling me that her brother is the promoter for Counting Crows! That I needed to add him on Facebook immediately so that he could check out my stuff and help me out.. she also recorded me later singing one of my originals and sent it to him. So keep your fingers crossed that something good comes out of that one!

And finally, another work friend was asking me about my songs and telling me about his best friend who is in  Nashville as a songwriter and eventually joined Dolly Parton's band. Now his wife and he started a record label and is looking for any genre. After he heard me sing my new song, he asked me what I was doing working  where we work and that should be singing professionally. He told me if I got a demo together this summer, he would make sure his friend seriously considered signing me! :)

And that's all I have for you right now, folks.. keep checking back for more news! You may just be seeing this gal nationally very soon!!! Ahhhhhh! :)

The Voice (part deux), season 4

It's that time of year again.. time to pack up my hopes and dreams, stuff them into an already overflowing suitcase and head out to Chicago for The Voice auditions. I'll be driving up with two of my best girl friends who are so supportive; it's ridiculous and they are crazy excited for the road trip! My audition is at 7am (which means I need to be two hours earlier to get a good spot in line) on Sunday, and if I get a call-back (fingers crossed!) , it should be any day between this coming Monday-Wednesday. Soo... keep those fingers crossed and send up a prayer for me, all right? Love you guys! I'm keeping all the 'Sara-nators' in mind this weekend and won't let you down! :)

The Voice in Chicago: July 15-16, 2011

I was really hoping to drive up to Chicago for The Voice auditions; however, it looks like I'm not going to be able to make up there.

Work has been slow ever since the Japan fiasco awhile back ago, and we aren't getting as much as orders as we used to. As such, money is a bit tight right now since I'm still paying for school as well.

Nonetheless, there is a second option! NBC is allowing video submissions.. can you see where this is going? This seems like a perfect alternative.. now to figure out this editing software that I've never used before!
